One Audience

Indeed, the History of Christian Church is very rich in a sense that I gained two lessons from the book that talks about it.

Firstly, I learned  that as a Christian I or we cannot really avoid offending other people by how we live. Just like how the church before offended the unbelievers in the aspects of religion, ethics, and economy. If we are living by the standard of God we will really offend some of the people who are not basing their principles upon it. Secondly, I learned and agree that the resources of the church should be given more generously to the people who are more willing-to-receive Christ than those who are less interested. But of course to reach those who are less receptive should not be discarded because these people need lot of prayers for it is only God who can cultivate willingness into their hearts.

Assessing my life with these learning, I would say that I should not be afraid to live out how Christ had lived here on earth just because of the fear of offending other people. It is not the people's opinions matter most but it is the feedback from God of how I am being like Christ.

I will always put in my mind that I should have one audience in living my life and it should be Christ alone. And I should always ask God to check my heart and to clean me from the sin of wanting to glorify myself through the approval of men. I should always remind myself that Christ's approval is always enough and I should pursue more of Him in my life so that my heart would be cleanse from these impurities.
